When Samantha Leung reached out for help on her budding business, she was met with a discouraging question – “What makes you think you’re special enough to succeed?” Read how she answered below and don’t miss more from @hemleva in our Stories. “When I was just starting my business, I was looking for advice on e-commerce and taxes. Instead of hearing my question or my purpose for being there, a "Development Specialist” interrupted me to ask me ‘What makes you think you are special enough to succeed?’ They then went on to list the numerous ways that I was bound to fail. In the moment, I responded, ‘I have a very unique set of skills, and unbelievable determination that will make me succeed. And I will not fail for lack of trying.’ That conversation was over 5 years ago. Starting a business is not for the faint of heart - the days are long, the work is hard, and you have to be your own cheerleader at times. Believe in yourself, because I do. We are all capable of so much, and I will be your cheerleader.”
"I took this photo at Tre Cime, in the Dolomites of Italy. There were grand mountain vistas everywhere you looked. It was glorious. But, I was distracted. Far down in the valley, a sliver of the scene caught my eye. Swirling fog and autumn trees, barely visible without my zoom lens. It was a reminder to me, that, while the bigger picture is something to be marveled at—you can find the same beauty, or greater, by focusing on the minute detail, the often overlooked, and the smaller things in photography and in life in general." Photographer @nathanielwise shares how these unexpected moments play a part in his breathtaking work.

“Heading into the holiday season, I think it’s easy to get swept up in the shopping madness. But what’s really important is that we are there for each other—your time is the most valuable thing you can give someone! I drew these vouchers to remind myself to be kind to both myself and those around me.” - @tinkoutsidethebox We’re celebrating #WorldKindnessDay with UK-based illustrator and Creative Resident Octavia Bromwell. 🥰 Tag a friend to spread the kind words.
